The goal for this weekend was the British Museum in London and it was successful. Quite some time ago we found cheap airfare to London and took the opportunity. The museum was quite impressive. You can walk through so many different cultures in one building - Iran, China, Greece, Egypt… the list just goes on. Heather really enjoyed the Greek sections and Radek’s favorite was the Rosetta Stone.
We were also able to see Radek’s cousin, Piotrek, who currently lives in London and had the opportunity to meet his lovely girlfriend, Shyma. (We hope we got the spelling correct - sorry if we didn’t!)
On Sunday, we took in the sunshine and wandered around the city streets and parks. We found our way to the National Gallery and enjoyed the beauty of Monet and Van Gogh. We also enjoyed quite a bit of the cuisine - from good ol’ fish and chips and a “spicy” Cornish pasty to Korean & Filipino fare.
So, cheers, London! We had a great weekend!
